Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi has heaped massive praise on Marc Marquez following a masterclass performance that saw the Spanish star dominate the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit. The commanding victory has further cemented his legacy in the premier class paddock.
Starting from second on the grid, the eight-time world champion launched brilliantly to wrest the lead from polesitter Alex Marquez on the charge toward Turn 1. Despite facing an early attack, he held firm and systematically pulled away, stretching his advantage to over four seconds to secure his seventh grand prix victory of the 2026 campaign.
Speaking to the MotoGP world feed after the race, Tardozzi expressed his profound admiration for the clever tactical approach and tire management displayed by his star rider throughout the demanding 20-lap encounter.

"I think that Marc did a fantastic race; he was so clever from the beginning. Fast, he was managing the rear tyre in a perfect way. We saw that Marco Bezzecchi, in the end, had several problems. But I think that we can really say that he is one of the most important riders ever," Tardozzi told reporters.
The veteran team boss also emphasized the deep synergy between the rider and the engineering department led by Gigi Dall'Igna, noting that the mutual trust has been a vital catalyst for their success in developing and extracting maximum performance from the Desmosedici.
"We know Marc’s head, we know how he trusts, how he pushes us, the team, to believe in it. He was the first, and Gigi and the engineers did the same. And I think that’s the most important thing - how close the rider is to the team," he added.
With this latest triumph, Marquez extends his championship lead to 44 points heading into the final stretch of the season. He now stands on the brink of securing his elite world title crown next weekend in Qatar if he can expand his margin to 74 points. Read our in-depth analysis for complete insights.
