Daniel Holgado returned to the top step of the podium in commanding fashion at a hot and sticky Lusail circuit, delivering a masterclass in racecraft during the Moto2 grand prix. Under the dazzling floodlights, the intermediate class battle ignited instantly as the red lights went out.
Alex Escrig, launching from pole position following a record-breaking lap on Saturday, dictated the early pace for the Klint Forward Racing squad. Despite briefly losing the initiative to Holgado off the line, Escrig regrouped and managed to control proceedings at the front for the majority of the race distance.
The defining moment arrived on lap fourteen when Holgado lunged into the lead at turn one. From that exact juncture, the Aspar rider unleashed relentless pace, stretching his advantage to cross the finish line 2.265 seconds clear of the chasing pack to secure back-to-back triumphs.

Further back, Ivan Ortola staged a remarkable charge from thirteenth on the grid after fighting his way through Q1. Executing precise overtaking maneuvers through turn one, Ortola hunted down Escrig in the dying moments, edging side-by-side on the sprint to the finish line to snatch second place and seal a Kalex one-two finish.
Escrig ultimately settled for third, marking only his second career podium in the class following his earlier success at Silverstone, narrowly missing out on the runner-up spot by a mere two-tenths of a second.
