Franco Colapinto has secured a contract extension with Alpine for the 2027 Formula 1 season, a move that not only cements his future but also dampens the swirling driver market speculation.
Since stepping up from a reserve role to replace Jack Doohan during 2025, Colapinto has shown significant progress. After the first 12 rounds of 2026, he sits 12th in the drivers' championship with 19 points, while teammate Pierre Gasly is 10th with 44 points.
