Hitech Announces 2027 FIA F3 Line-up: Al Azhari, Le and Shin Sign

Looking ahead to the upcoming championship battles, Hitech has officially become the first team to announce its full driver line-up for the 2027 FIA Formula 3 Championship. The roster features rookie talent Keanu Al Azhari, sophomore driver Kanato Le, alongside returning competitor Michael Shin. All three drivers are deeply familiar with the team environment, having progressed through the ranks within the squad.

This major announcement means that Hitech's remaining two 2026 drivers, Jin Nakamura and Fionn McLaughlin, will need to secure seats with other squads if they wish to remain on the F3 grid for the 2027 season. For Al Azhari, stepping up to FIA F3 marks the culmination of a steady progression through Formula 4 and junior categories.

After finishing as runner-up in Spanish F4 and competing strongly in GB3 and Eurocup-3, the Emirati driver—who has been a member of the Alpine Academy since early 2025—is set to make history. Al Azhari emphasized his immense pride in representing his nation on the international stage.

"I am proud and honoured to continue my journey with my family at Hitech as we step up together into the 2027 FIA Formula 3 Championship. To become the first driver from the UAE to compete in FIA F3 is a milestone I carry with immense pride," stated Al Azhari.

Hitech F3 team manager Paul Bellringer praised the impressive growth displayed by the young driver over recent years. "We’ve worked closely with Keanu over the last two seasons and have seen first-hand how much he has developed in that time," added Bellringer.

Meanwhile, Kanato Le makes his return to Hitech following a season with ART Grand Prix. The Japanese racer shares a substantial history with the British outfit, having previously competed for them in British F4 and the Formula Regional Oceania Trophy before rejoining for testing and selected outings.

Le expressed his enthusiasm for reuniting with a familiar group of engineers and mechanics. "This is a team I know very well after racing with them in British F4 and FROT, and I am excited to be part of the team again. I am confident that we will have a strong season together," concluded Le.
