Facing the unrelenting demands of the modern Formula 1 calendar, Cadillac driver Valtteri Bottas has opted for an unconventional physical challenge ahead of the next round. Instead of taking a standard commercial flight to Southeast Asia, the veteran racer chose to cycle an astonishing 350 kilometers all the way from Sepang to Singapore.
This extreme commute comes on the heels of the race weekend at the Sepang International Circuit. Formula 1 returned to Malaysia for the first time since 2017, hosting an unexpected Grand Prix event before the championship heads directly to the Marina Bay Street Circuit for the notoriously grueling night race in Singapore.
While the vast majority of teams and drivers rely on conventional commercial aviation to travel between venues, Valtteri Bottas embraced a daunting endurance test. The 37-year-old Finn set out to pedal across the country to arrive in time for Thursday's mandatory media commitments and official Grand Prix proceedings.

According to reports from Crash.net, the Finnish driver covered 56.6 kilometers on his very first day in the saddle, riding from the international airport area down toward Port Dickson. Cycling functions as far more than a simple pastime for him, serving as a core component of his rigorous physical and mental training regimen throughout the grueling F1 season.
His return to a full-time race seat for the 2026 campaign alongside teammate Sergio Perez with the brand-new American outfit has proven immensely challenging. Bottas currently sits outside the points with a 13th-place finish in China as his best result, compounded by an early crash in the wet conditions in Malaysia.
