Pecco Bagnaia endured another challenging weekend in MotoGP after leaving the Indonesian Grand Prix empty-handed following a crash at turn 17. The Italian rider was pushing hard to recover positions when the front end of his motorcycle washed out under braking.
Persistent grip issues and a lack of connection with the throttle once again hindered his overall performance, preventing him from fighting for more competitive places on the grid. He admitted that finding the right sensations to extract the maximum potential from his Desmosedici remains an ongoing struggle.
Speaking to collaborator Manuel Pecino, the Italian rider explained the circumstances surrounding his crash while trying to catch Luca Marini to raise front tyre pressure. He noted that pushing the machine too hard when it failed to deliver extra speed ultimately resulted in a costly mistake.

He pointed out that the step backward experienced over the last two years is particularly evident on tracks requiring high cornering speed and rear grip. Without adequate support from the rear tyre, navigating low-grip circuits becomes an extremely demanding task for the factory rider.
Looking ahead to the upcoming Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island, addressing these fundamental traction issues is vital to regaining competitiveness. The team faces a race against time to implement solutions before track action commences.
