The second Formula 1 practice session of the weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace Interlagos delivered intense action under threatening dark clouds. Andrea Kimi Antonelli emerged at the top of the timesheets in FP2, setting an impressive pace to outpace his closest rivals at the iconic Sao Paulo circuit.
Track activity picked up immediately after an FP1 session that featured several rookies getting their first taste of F1 machinery in Brazil. As the pit lane light turned green, looming rain threatened the field as drivers rushed out to maximize their run plans during this crucial practice hour.
Max Verstappen initially led the early minutes using hard compound tyres, while Lando Norris and the McLaren squad kept the pressure close behind at the sharp end of the field. Major challenges arose around the circuit as drivers struggled with heavy braking stability caused by crosswinds and fluctuating track temperatures.

Multiple lock-ups occurred into Turn 1, forcing several contenders to bail out into the run-off areas. Over at the Audi garage, Gabriel Bortoleto showed strong form by jumping into fourth place, whereas the team faced contrasting fortunes on the other side of the garage while dismantling Nico Hulkenberg's car.
As the session reached its halfway mark, the grid switched focus to soft tyre runs for qualifying simulations. George Russell briefly went quickest before Antonelli unleashed a stunning lap to pull clear by over two tenths of a second at the summit.
Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc spent considerable time in the pits making setup adjustments to his SF-26 after returning from Monaco. The Monegasque driver attempted a late push on soft tyres, but his run was impeded through the final corner just as rain droplets began to fall.
