The FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar battle has officially reached a decisive turning point after Toyota successfully secured its eighth manufacturers' world title in history at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The dominant Japanese manufacturer showcased an impenetrable performance during the penultimate round of the season, putting them out of reach from all competitors with just one race remaining on the calendar.
This impressive outcome at Montmelo guarantees that the Hypercar drivers' world championship will exclusively be decided between the two powerhouse driver lineups of Toyota Gazoo Racing. An intense internal showdown is now set up between the crew of the #8 car featuring Brendon Hartley, Ryo Hirakawa, and Sebastien Buemi against their sister car #7 teammates Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries.
The commanding victory achieved by the #8 crew in Barcelona propelled them to the top of the standings with 114 points, holding a solid advantage over their teammates in the #7 machine who sit on 97 points. Meanwhile, the highest-placed challenger outside of the Japanese manufacturer is represented by BMW M Team WRT's Kevin Magnussen and Raffaele Marciello in third place with 75 points, edging out their stablemates Rene Rast and Robin Frijns.

On the other hand, Ferrari AF Corse holds sixth place in the drivers' standings through Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen with 69 points, struggling to match the supreme pace of the leading Japanese Hypercars throughout the demanding Spanish endurance encounter.
The ultimate showdown for the Hypercar drivers' crown and the LMGT3 titles will now shift to the legendary Temple of Speed at Monza for the eighth and final round of the season. Everything is set for a thrilling conclusion to the endurance racing world championship.
