Zandvoort is set to host what will be Formula 1's last visit for now this weekend, and the weather is stealing the spotlight. After the summer break, the drivers return to the coastal circuit famous for its demanding banked corners, but this time they may have to contend with an even more unpredictable element: the moody Dutch skies.

Friday's free practice session isn't entirely in the clear. Showers drifting in from the sea could sweep over the track during the afternoon, with some possibly carrying local thunderstorms. Fans making their way to the venue should keep a close eye on the forecast. The wind, arriving from the west, remains relatively gentle, expected to stay at force 2-3.

Saturday, however, is where things get considerably more interesting. A much greater number of showers is likely to develop across the western Netherlands, putting Zandvoort firmly in the firing line. The sprint race in particular could see heavy rainfall, and in the worst-case scenario, that will have meaningful consequences for the drivers out on track, especially through the iconic Tarzan and Hugenholtz corners.

Temperatures on Saturday are expected to hover around 19 degrees Celsius. The wind will shift to a northerly direction, mostly moderate, though gusts are possible during the heavier showers. This combination will test every team's ability to adapt to changing grip levels.

The good news is that Sunday looks set to be the pick of the three days by some distance. A final shower may linger during the morning, but drier conditions are expected to take hold ahead of the grand prix, with the sun making regular appearances. Temperatures should climb to around 22 degrees, and light winds from the northwest to north will round off a much more settled afternoon for drivers and fans alike.

With a potentially wet sprint and a sunny main race, tire strategy and pit stop calls could prove decisive. Will Saturday's rain shake up the standings? We'll see the action unfold at Zandvoort.
