Marc Marquez will once again start from pole position in Sunday's final Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island after taking the world championship lead in a dramatic Saturday Sprint.
However, the major pre-race news is that former title leader Jorge Martin and defending Phillip Island winner Raul Fernandez have both been declared unfit for the demanding 28-lap race following injuries sustained over the weekend.
Jorge Martin fractured his forearm while challenging Marquez for victory during the frantic Sprint, while Raul Fernandez was also unable to continue due to his recently fractured finger.

With both riders previously slated to start from the second row, the grid has shifted significantly, leaving Marc Marquez joined on an unchanged front row by his younger brother and Sprint runner-up Alex Marquez alongside former Phillip Island winner Johann Zarco.
The second row will now be spearheaded by Pramac Yamaha's home hero Jack Miller, with KTM's Pedro Acosta and VR46's Fabio di Giannantonio moving up to fifth and sixth respectively, while Martin’s Aprilia team-mate Marco Bezzecchi starts from seventh.
Adding to the unpredictable nature of the weekend, after a dry Friday, wet Saturday morning, and dry afternoon, the heaviest rain of the weekend is officially forecast for Sunday's main event.
Only 18 riders will take the start as Martin and Fernandez join Luca Marini on the DNS list, the Italian sidelined due to a virus, while Joan Mir's absence leaves no HRC team riders on the grid for the final Australian GP before the round moves to Adelaide.
