The fierce battle of the intermediate production-based racing class delivered a masterclass in resilience as Jeremy Alcoba triumphed in a chaotic and red-flag interrupted WorldSSP Race 2 at the Circuito do Estoril. Under threatening weather skies, the afternoon showdown quickly transformed into a high-stakes tactical sprint following a major mid-race stoppage.
Pole sitter Roberto Garcia initially grabbed the holeshot when lights went out, leading Valentin Debise and Tom Booth-Amos through the opening stages. However, proceedings came to a sudden halt on lap ten after Bahattin Sofuoglu suffered a heavy crash at turn three, scattering debris and dangerous dust across the racing line.
Following a prompt cleanup operation by track marshals, the race was restarted as a frantic six-lap dash to the checkered flag. Newly crowned 2026 world champion Albert Arenas saw his afternoon end in disappointment before the restart due to an untimely technical failure on his machine.

When the racing resumed, Lucas Mahias launched into the lead before getting embroiled in a fierce multi-rider scrap alongside Filippo Farioli and Alcoba. The Kawasaki rider executed a decisive overtake on lap four of the sprint, immediately putting his head down to carve out a vital gap at the front.
Further back, championship drama unfolded as Jaume Masia and Eric Fernandez crashed out at turn nine, mathematically sealing the runner-up spot in the overall standings for Debise. Alcoba successfully fended off Farioli in the closing meters to win by 0.378 seconds, with Debise rounding out the podium.
