Wehrlein Crowned Two-Time Formula E Champion as Rivalry Boils Over

The 2026 Formula E season concluded in the most dramatic and controversial fashion in London. Pascal Wehrlein secured his second world championship title after a race filled with intrigue and incidents, while Taylor Barnard etched his name into the history books as the series' youngest winner.

Da Costa's task was to hold up Wehrlein, which he did so aggressively that his former teammate fell outside the points. Wehrlein was visibly frustrated, and his anger reached a boiling point. The rivalry between the two truly exploded, showcasing the intense atmosphere within the Porsche garage.

This opened the door for Jake Dennis from Andretti, who had been at the back for much of the race but then charged forward. The climax came on lap 32 when Wehrlein collided with Dennis and Joel Eriksson, forcing Eriksson to retire. Both title contenders were sent to the back of the field.
