Toyota has officially unveiled its six-driver line-up for the upcoming World Rally Championship campaign, splitting its roster evenly across two distinct three-car teams. This structural shift is designed to optimize tactical execution and car development across varied terrains throughout the grueling global calendar.
Notably, Sebastien Ogier was absent from the primary group of six named drivers. However, this omission does not signal the end of the nine-time world rally champion's illustrious career, but rather highlights a transition toward a much more selective and reduced competitive program.
Over the past two seasons, the French legend demonstrated remarkable efficiency, securing victory contention despite skipping multiple rounds. His meticulous approach to late braking precision, racing lines, and tyre degradation management remains a benchmark in the service park.

Toyota sporting director Kaj Lindstrom confirmed that Kalle Rovanpera will contest a partial schedule consisting of approximately seven events, which naturally creates vacant seat opportunities within the secondary team structure.
"With Kalle not doing the full season, it does give us an opportunity to offer seat time to other drivers," Kaj Lindstrom stated. "Obviously, those could be experienced ones like Seb. Seb is still part of our family, and he has a strong desire to do some rallies next year. So we are working out the details with him."
Meanwhile, team principal Jari-Matti Latvala and management are also evaluating promising talents from their challenge program and successful Rally2 competitors to sample top-tier machinery. With fifteen rounds comprising the official championship calendar, Toyota's tactical rotation strategy promises an intriguing battle ahead.
