Toprak Razgatlioglu has admitted he felt "bored" during his final two seasons in WorldSBK, urging the championship to expand its calendar. The Turkish rider, now with Pramac Yamaha in MotoGP, believes the 12-round WorldSBK schedule is too short and lacks intensity.
Razgatlioglu, who claimed back-to-back WorldSBK titles in 2024 and 2025 with BMW, won nearly 40 races across those two seasons. Even when facing stiff competition from Nicolo Bulega in 2025, his dominance left him craving more.
"Superbike needs more races," Razgatlioglu told Crash.net ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. "I like the Superbike calendar, but the last two years I was really bored because we had fewer races. After the race, especially after Donington Park, there's a two-month break. That's too much."

He highlighted the long gaps in the WorldSBK schedule, including a summer break from mid-July to early September, plus another three-week pause after the French Round at Magny-Cours. In his view, a world championship like WorldSBK should feature at least 15 or 16 rounds per season.

The contrast with MotoGP is stark. The 2026 MotoGP calendar features 22 races over nine months, plus a grueling winter testing program in February. Razgatlioglu acknowledges the MotoGP season is long and demanding, but it's the packed rhythm he enjoys.
"The recent MotoGP summer break was nice, but I only had three full days of total rest," said the 29-year-old. "After that, I kept training. I feel refreshed, but the season is so long and we have no free time. After this race, we have two more weeks, then a run of races that's very tough for all riders."
Razgatlioglu also admitted he no longer follows WorldSBK races closely, as he feels the outcomes are predictable. "I watch occasionally, mainly for Turkish riders like Can Oncu in Supersport and Bahattin Sofuoglu in Superbike," he said. "I don't watch all the races because I already know the results."
His comments add to the ongoing debate about WorldSBK's calendar format, which many believe needs restructuring to boost competitiveness and appeal. With experience in both championships, Razgatlioglu is a credible voice on the future direction of WorldSBK.
