Under the leadership of Roland Dane, Peter Xiberas and PremiAir Racing have certainly not been afraid of making major upheavals within their team structure. This ruthless approach was evident when they deposed Richie Stanaway before the season's end to install Ojeda, who has regularly proven himself to be a legitimate top-ten contender on his day.
Statistically, Ojeda has on average been the superior driver over his recently axed stablemate Declan Fraser. Across 30 races, Ojeda boasts an average finish of 13.3 compared to Fraser's 17.3. In qualifying sessions, the narrative remains identical, with Ojeda holding the edge with an average grid slot of 14.1 versus Fraser's 20.1.
With three rounds remaining in the 2026 campaign, Ojeda is firmly on course to finish inside the top 15 of the drivers' championship during his rookie season, currently holding down 13th place. That impressive trajectory easily eclipses the rookie efforts of Murray, who managed only 18th in 2025 amid a turbulent rebuilding phase for Erebus.
While these metrics must ultimately be taken with a grain of salt given that they have been piloting machinery for entirely different teams, Ojeda's maiden campaign remains remarkably striking at face value. His ability to extract pace immediately highlights his natural racecraft.
As Murray prepares to arrive at PremiAir alongside a relatively experienced teammate for 2027, the intra-team battle promises high drama. The resulting data will ultimately prove two crucial things: just how good Ojeda is, and how competitive PremiAir is relative to Erebus.
