Moto3, Sportrik Media - Ruche Moodley emerged as the fastest rider in Q1 of the 2026 Moto3 Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez, securing progression to Q2 alongside three other riders.

The South African rider set a best lap of 1:45.913, demonstrating strong consistency and control on the technically demanding Jerez circuit. His performance highlighted effective adaptation to a layout that requires precision through a mix of flowing corners and tight braking zones.

In second place, Veda Pratama of Honda Team Asia secured a Q2 berth with a lap time just 0.190 seconds slower. The Indonesian rider showed notable improvement in single-lap pace, particularly in maintaining corner speed through the critical middle sector of the track.

The final Q2 transfer position was secured by Hakim Danish of A-M MSi Racing, who posted a 1:46.358 lap. Danish capitalized on stable track conditions in the closing stages of the session to secure advancement.

Outside the top four, several riders delivered competitive performances but fell short of progression. Jesus Rios led the group of non-qualifiers, followed by Cormac Buchanan and Guido Pini. The narrow time gaps reflected the highly competitive nature of the Moto3 field.

Technical factors such as slipstream utilization, pit exit timing, and tyre optimization played a decisive role in determining Q1 outcomes. In Moto3, where aerodynamic drafting significantly influences lap times, execution of these elements remains critical.

With Q1 concluded, attention shifts to Q2, where competition for front-row grid positions will intensify. The riders advancing from Q1 could play a strategic role in the next session, particularly against established front-runners already seeded into Q2.
