As the lights go out at MotorLand Aragon this weekend, all eyes will be on one name: Marc Marquez. The Ducati Lenovo Team rider has won seven MotoGP races at this Spanish circuit and now aims for an eighth victory in round 13 of the 2026 season, held from August 28-30.
MotorLand Aragon is no ordinary track for Marquez. From 2013 to 2025, he has been the benchmark here, collecting seven pole positions and seven wins, including two Sprint victories since the format was introduced. Unsurprisingly, he remains the man to beat.
Records could also fall this weekend. Marquez recently equaled Giacomo Agostini's record with ten wins at the Sachsenring. A victory in Aragon would add to his tally, though he still trails that record by two wins.
Marquez's dominance at Aragon is backed by impressive form since 2024. In every session he has participated in, he has been fastest, except for one warm-up in 2024. Last year, he swept all sessions, showing his incredible comfort at this circuit.
However, competition will be fierce. Francesco Bagnaia and other Ducati riders will try to break his stranglehold. Notably, Honda remains the most successful manufacturer at MotorLand with seven wins, followed by Ducati with five, Yamaha with three, and Suzuki with one. Aprilia and KTM are still winless here, though Pedro Acosta secured a podium for KTM in 2024.
With all that history, Aragon 2026 promises drama. Can Marquez extend his dominance, or will there be an upset? We'll find out this weekend.
