Moto3 Britain 2026: Almansa Wins, Carpe & Perrone on Podium

David Almansa claimed his second win of the season in Moto3 at the 2026 British Grand Prix. After a dramatic qualifying session, the championship leader was forced to sit out, leaving the door open for a surprise podium.

Maximo Quiles, who has dominated the season so far, missed the race after breaking his collarbone in a crash during qualifying. Without him, the front of the pack became more unpredictable, and Almansa seized the opportunity with both hands.

From the start, Almansa took control of the race, showcasing consistent pace and building a comfortable lead. Despite pressure from behind, he remained composed and crossed the line first.

Behind him, the fight for the podium was intense. Alvaro Carpe and Valentin Perrone eventually secured second and third places. However, drama unfolded on the final lap when Brian Uriarte crashed at Brooklands while battling Adrian Fernandez.

Fernandez himself lost the rear at Stowe, which opened the door for Perrone to pass at Vale. Meanwhile, local hero Scott Ogden, who started from pole, ended his race early after a high-side at Club corner.

From the Italian contingent, Matteo Bertelle finished tenth, Guido Pini thirteenth, and Nicola Carraro crashed out late in the race. This result clearly impacts the championship battle, with Almansa now closing in on the top of the standings.

This victory cements Almansa's status as a strong title contender. With Quiles still recovering, the opportunity to rack up points is wide open. The next race will reveal how much Quiles' absence affects the balance of power in this lightweight class.
