WRC, Sportrik Media - Rally Paraguay will return to the World Rally Championship calendar in 2026 with significant changes to its route and format. The gravel event, scheduled for 27–30 August, will mark only the second time Paraguay has hosted a round of the WRC after its debut last season.
Organisers have confirmed that the rally distance will increase by nearly 30 kilometres compared to 2025. The total length of the special stages will exceed 360 kilometres, making Rally Paraguay the longest event on the 2026 WRC calendar.
Last year’s edition featured 19 special stages, but the 2026 rally will expand to 22 stages. The changes are expected to increase the challenge for drivers and teams as the event opens the South American leg of the championship.

The rally headquarters will once again be located in the border city of Encarnación. Two completely new stages will be introduced this year, including a super special stage on the outskirts of Encarnación and a traditional forest stage in the municipality of Trinidad.
In addition, the rally’s longest stage from last season, Yerbatera, will also be extended. The stage previously measured around 30 kilometres, but for 2026 it will be run in a longer 33-kilometre configuration.
Another change concerns the shakedown stage. In 2025 the shakedown was held in Trinidad, but for this year the pre-event test will take place in the Nueva Alborada area, located roughly a 30-minute drive from Encarnación.
The inaugural WRC Rally Paraguay in 2025 was won by Toyota Gazoo Racing driver Sébastien Ogier, who secured the first victory in the event’s history.
Rally CEO César Marsal stated that the adjustments are intended to create a more memorable and distinctive edition of the event.
“We want this edition to be unforgettable and unique,” Marsal said in an interview with Paraguay TV.
The full route details for the rally will be revealed at a later date, but the expanded distance and additional stages suggest Rally Paraguay 2026 will play an important role in shaping the championship during the South American phase of the season.
