Veteran driver Lewis Hamilton has firmly stated his intention to continue racing in Formula 1 well into his 40s, provided that he can maintain his competitive edge at the highest level of motorsport.
The remarks came as Lewis Hamilton was asked about the realistic prospect of competing in the newly announced African Grand Prix in Rwanda, which is slated to join the calendar no earlier than 2030.
Addressing doubts regarding his age by the time the inaugural event in Rwanda takes place, Lewis Hamilton dismissed the notion of an imminent retirement.

"Firstly, you've never had anyone like me here in the 70 years. I feel that I'm built differently," Lewis Hamilton said ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix weekend in Formula 1.
He further emphasized that preconceptions about declining reaction times with age do not apply to him, noting his race pace remains exceptionally fast compared to the youngest competitors on the current grid.
However, the British driver acknowledged that he would immediately step away from the sport if his overall pace, drive, and performance levels ever suffered a significant drop.
