Formula 1, Sportrik Media - Kyalami has emerged as the top choice in a fan poll on which circuit should return to the Formula 1 calendar, following confirmation that the Turkish Grand Prix will rejoin the schedule from 2027.
The South African venue secured nearly 20 percent of the vote, highlighting a strong desire among fans for Formula 1 to return to the African continent. Kyalami last hosted a grand prix in 1993 and received FIA Grade 1 certification in June 2025, although Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali previously indicated that a race agreement remains some distance away.
Second place in the poll was taken by the Nürburgring in Germany, which last featured on the calendar during the 2020 Eifel Grand Prix. The result underlines the enduring appeal of the historic circuit among the Formula 1 fanbase.

The Sepang International Circuit ranked third, reflecting continued support from Southeast Asian fans. The Malaysian track hosted 19 races between 1999 and 2017 before being dropped due to rising hosting fees and declining ticket sales. However, circuit officials have confirmed readiness to return should the right commercial backing be secured.
Other venues such as Imola and the Hockenheimring also featured prominently in the results, while options including the Nordschleife, Buenos Aires, and Paul Ricard attracted smaller shares of the vote. The distribution reflects a preference for a balance between historic circuits and geographic diversity within the calendar.
The poll underscores that while Formula 1 continues to expand globally, there remains significant demand for the return of legacy venues. With the Turkish Grand Prix confirmed as a returning event, the prospect of further calendar rotation or expansion remains a key strategic topic for the championship in the coming years.
