Why Toto Wolff Wore Two Luxury Watches at the Singapore Grand Prix

Toto Wolff certainly turned heads in the Formula 1 paddock last weekend by arriving with not one, but two luxury timepieces strapped to his left wrist. The Mercedes team principal has done this on previous occasions, driven by the team's strong ongoing partnership with prestigious watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen.

The rationale behind wearing dual watches is purely practical for managing multiple time zones simultaneously. One timepiece was set to local Singapore time, while the second tracked European time, allowing the Austrian boss to effortlessly balance the demands of a intense night race while keeping an exact pulse on operations back at Brackley.

For the main event, Wolff opted for the ultra-exclusive Big Pilot's Watch Shock Absorber XPL Toto Wolff edition. Crafted from Ceratanium and strictly limited to just 100 pieces globally, this 44mm robust timepiece is engineered to withstand severe impacts, jokingly referencing Wolff's famous desk-slamming moments.

The secondary watch featured on his wrist was IWC’s striking Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team edition. Boasting a vibrant purple sunburst dial inspired by Singapore’s national orchid, the Vanda Miss Joaquim, it features Petronas-green numerals and a matching purple rubber strap.

As reported by Motorsport.com, current drivers like George Russell and Kimi Antonelli previously assisted with the launch of these remarkable timepieces earlier this year, combining elite motorsport engineering with luxury fashion.
