MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Toprak Razgatlioglu officially made his first visual step into MotoGP as Pramac Yamaha revealed its 2026 livery in Siena, Italy, marking the beginning of the Turkish rider’s long-anticipated debut season in the premier class.
Pramac became the first MotoGP team to unveil its 2026 colours, underlining its strategic role as Yamaha’s fully supported satellite operation. The signing of Razgatlioglu, a three-time WorldSBK champion, is viewed not as a marketing-driven move but as a technically aligned decision within Yamaha’s broader restructuring phase as it prepares for a pivotal technical transition.
Following his latest WorldSBK title success, Razgatlioglu completed a series of private Yamaha tests before making his on-track MotoGP appearance at the Valencia post-season test. Due to existing contractual obligations with BMW Motorrad, he rode an unbranded machine at that time. The Siena launch on Tuesday, 13 January, therefore represented his first public appearance in the official Pramac Yamaha colours he will race throughout the 2026 season.

Razgatlioglu was joined at the event by team-mate Jack Miller, with both riders now preparing for the Sepang shakedown and the opening pre-season tests. The 2026 campaign carries particular significance for Yamaha, which is set to abandon its long-standing inline-four configuration in favour of a V4 engine, a fundamental technical shift impacting chassis balance, aerodynamics, and tyre management.

Yamaha’s V4 project was first announced in 2024 and made limited competitive appearances through test rider Augusto Fernandez via wildcard entries. The new engine platform is regarded as the foundation of Yamaha’s long-term recovery plan and a decisive factor in its efforts to retain 2021 world champion Fabio Quartararo amid increasing pressure from rival manufacturers.
Pramac’s livery launch signals the start of MotoGP’s 2026 pre-season schedule, with the Sepang shakedown set for late January ahead of two official tests in Sepang and Buriram. For Razgatlioglu, this phase will be critical in defining his adaptation curve to MotoGP machinery and Yamaha’s development trajectory, with further coverage available at https://sportrik.com/en.
