Formula 1, Sportrik Media - Sky Sports has launched a nationwide competition through Sky Sports F1 aimed at discovering a new Formula 1 content creator who will join the broadcaster’s on-screen presenting team.
The initiative, titled “Grid Insider,” is designed to identify a fresh voice from the rapidly growing community of Formula 1 creators and bring them directly into the centre of Sky’s F1 programming.
The winner of the competition will receive a range of unique opportunities across Sky Sports F1 platforms. These include presenting a segment on The F1 Show, appearing as a guest on the official Sky F1 podcast, and hosting an episode of Paddock Pass.

In addition, the selected creator will host a watch party for one of the 24 grands prix scheduled during the 2026 Formula 1 season, along with several other exclusive prizes described by the broadcaster as experiences “money can’t buy.”
To enter the competition, interested participants must submit an application explaining why they should become the first Grid Insider. The Sky Sports F1 team will then select an initial shortlist of candidates.
Those shortlisted will be required to produce original content demonstrating their presentation skills, creativity, and knowledge of Formula 1. The final winner will ultimately be decided through a public vote.
The project has been welcomed by 2009 Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button, who returns to the channel this year as one of its on-screen analysts.
“The explosion of Formula 1’s popularity is largely due to the growing creator and fan community.”
Button said the competition represents a significant opportunity for passionate creators to showcase their talent on a global platform.
“Sky Sports has launched this competition as an incredible opportunity for a creator with genuine passion and knowledge of the sport to show that they can entertain, inform and perform on the biggest stage.”
He also expressed excitement about the creativity that participants may bring to the initiative.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing the creativity and personality creators bring, and to welcoming the eventual winner to the team this season.”
As part of the competition’s promotion, several members of Sky’s broadcast team have also produced a light-hearted audition-style segment inspired by talent shows such as X Factor.
In the video, well-known Sky Sports F1 personalities including Martin Brundle, Natalie Pinkham, Bernie Collins, and Button appear as judges evaluating potential talent.
Through the Grid Insider programme, Sky Sports aims to connect the expanding digital creator community with traditional Formula 1 broadcasting, offering fans a new perspective within its coverage.
