Sami Pajari says his primary goal during the current World Rally Championship break is simply to rest and switch off from rallying before the schedule intensifies again with Rally Greece later this month.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing driver has enjoyed an impressive 2026 campaign so far. Having raised his level from last season, Pajari has already claimed five podium finishes and established himself as one of the championship's most consistent performers.

With preparations for Rally Greece already completed through testing, the short pause in the calendar has offered competitors a rare opportunity to step away from the sport after an extremely demanding opening stretch of events.

"It would be nice to spend some time on the sofa at home and think about something other than rallying for a change. I really do enjoy my job, but the first part of the year has been extremely busy."

According to Pajari, the pace of the championship during the opening months of the season has been relentless. Alongside the rallies themselves, testing commitments and preparation work have created a demanding workload, although strong results have helped make the effort worthwhile.

"The start of the year has been exceptionally busy, even though I've been travelling to these rallies for years already. When you've been getting good results, the break probably feels even better."

The opportunity to relax will be brief. Following Rally Greece, the championship heads into another demanding period with Rally Estonia in July before moving to Rally Finland at the turn of July and August. Carrying momentum from five podium finishes, Pajari will aim to maintain his strong form as the summer gravel campaign begins.
