Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies has officially confirmed that the persistent clutch issues affecting the RB22 will not be fully resolved until next season. This crucial admission comes in the wake of candid remarks made by Isack Hadjar, who demanded a major redesign following the challenges faced at the United States Grand Prix.
Hadjar managed to cross the finish line in sixth position at the Circuit of the Americas, but he pointed out immediately after the race that the car's clutch assembly is fundamentally fragile. He stressed that the system struggles significantly with operating temperatures, leading to launch anomalies that are entirely out of the drivers' control and not attributable to individual errors.
Throughout the ongoing campaign, Red Bull has struggled persistently with start-line deficiencies. Both reigning world champion Max Verstappen and his teammate have frequently lost valuable ground off the line when compared directly against the formidable pace shown by frontrunners from Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes.

Addressing the complex nature of these launch difficulties, Mekies elaborated that the underlying issue impacts virtually every technical department within the organization. While aerodynamic components are excluded, the trouble spans across the engine architecture, gearbox configuration, and the clutch itself, meaning minor tweaks will not suffice and substantial hardware redesigns are mandatory.
Adding to their operational headaches in Austin, the team was also plagued by recurring radio dropouts for the second consecutive race weekend. Mekies conceded that the frustration expressed by the garage regarding the compromised pit communication was entirely justified as the outfit continues searching for a definitive technical fix.
