Red Bull Team Principal and CEO Laurent Mekies has confirmed that the team has implemented a potential fix to resolve Max Verstappen's ongoing radio troubles ahead of the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix. The reigning world champion struggled significantly with team communication during the last two race weekends, hampering critical tactical decisions from the pit wall.
At the Singapore Grand Prix, the Dutch driver's voice was completely inaudible throughout the entire race distance. Similar technical gremlins resurfaced the following weekend at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, prompting an intensive investigation by engineers at the Red Bull factory to isolate the root cause of the persistent hardware failure.
Speaking to media representatives at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Laurent Mekies revealed that the Milton Keynes-based squad introduced major adjustments for the Mexico weekend. The team principal expects a noticeable leap in the clarity and reliability of their audio channels for both garage setups moving forward.

"Hopefully, we have a fix for this race," Laurent Mekies stated. "The guys have been doing a very big deep dive to make sure it's not only going away for a race or two, but to make sure we will also make a step in the quality of our communications." He noted that initial checks ahead of the track sessions yielded positive results compared to previous outings.
The technical updates arrive as the squad looks to bounce back from an untidy weekend in Austin, where a third-place finish left room for improvement. Acknowledging that rivals like Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes held a performance advantage on race day, the team is fully focused on executing a much cleaner strategy in Mexico.
