Lando Norris produced a mega drive to win the Dutch Grand Prix from pole, while home hero Max Verstappen caused a red flag by crashing out heavily.
The McLaren driver crossed the line 11.5s ahead of runner-up Kimi Antonelli, with his Mercedes team-mate George Russell completing the podium at Zandvoort.
This was Norris's second consecutive win after his sprint success, and it came despite tricky wet-dry conditions. The dangers emerged at the end of the opening lap when Verstappen dipped a tyre onto the white line on the inside of the final corner, causing the Red Bull driver to spin into the barrier and spread debris across the circuit.
"Yeah that's it - sorry!," said the Dutchman via team radio, having brought out the red flag just as Gabriel Bortoleto also had a 360-degree spin at the banking but somehow avoided damage.
After the restart, Antonelli squeezed by at Turn 1 for the lead, but Norris's superior pace and pit strategy allowed him to reclaim the top spot and control the race. Behind, there were intense battles, with Charles Leclerc eventually passing Oscar Piastri for fourth, while Lewis Hamilton pressured his team-mate for team orders.
Verstappen's crash was a major talking point, as the local hero was expected to perform well in front of his home crowd. The incident also impacted the championship standings, with Norris closing the gap to Verstappen at the top.
With this victory, Norris proved he is a serious title contender, while Mercedes had to settle for a double podium despite Antonelli's disappointment at missing the win.
