Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, MotoGP remains fully committed to completing its scheduled world championship calendar. The International Race Teams Association (IRTA) has formally communicated to all competing outfits that the upcoming grand prix event at the Lusail International Circuit is still slated to take place from November 6 to 8.
This definitive stance follows rigorous coordination between championship promoters and local authorities in Qatar. Amid regional uncertainty, series management has explicitly reiterated that safeguarding the physical well-being of all paddock personnel, riders, team mechanics, and attending fans remains the absolute number one priority.
The announcement arrives as the racing paddock navigates the demanding final stretch of its intensive Asian flyaway leg. Following demanding back-to-back weekends in Australia and Malaysia, freight and personnel are scheduled to transition directly into the Gulf state for the final leg of the triple-header before heading back to Europe.

Earlier in the year, the calendar required substantial restructuring when the Middle East conflict forced organizers to postpone the Lusail season opener from its traditional April slot into the autumn window. This compulsory shift directly triggered a domino effect, altering the final rounds in Portugal and Valencia.
Despite the official reassurance provided by IRTA, underlying logistical anxieties persist among team principals. Paddock management relies heavily on precise scheduling for freight transportation, making the rapidly evolving security updates a critical talking point behind closed doors.
To address these operational concerns, local promoters have established a robust contingency framework. According to internal memorandums shared with the teams, series organizers maintain continuous dialogue with international embassies and security agencies to evaluate safety metrics continuously.
Dorna Sports Sporting Director Carlos Ezpeleta previously emphasized the championship's transparent approach to crisis management. With no diplomatic missions currently advising against travel to the region, preparations for the desert night race proceed under strict observation.
