MotoGP Austria Warm Up: Bezzecchi Fastest, Acosta Crashes Again

Marco Bezzecchi topped the MotoGP warm-up session in Austria, beating Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta, who ended the session in the gravel. The session at Red Bull Ring Spielberg on Sunday morning was the final opportunity for riders to fine-tune their bikes ahead of the main race.

Bezzecchi, riding for Aprilia, was solid from the start. Despite running wide a few times, he managed to bounce back and set the fastest time just before the chequered flag. His lap time signals that he is ready to fight at the front in the race. Marco Bezzecchi had previously finished third in the sprint race, boosting his confidence.

On the other hand, Pedro Acosta suffered another setback. After crashing out of the sprint race while leading, the KTM rider fell again in warm-up, at Turn 9, with just seconds remaining. This incident adds to Acosta's frustrations in Austria, though he still has a chance to shine in the main race.

Marc Marquez had to settle for second, just a fraction behind Bezzecchi. The Gresini rider had briefly led the timesheets before being displaced. Meanwhile, Brad Binder also crashed at Turn 4 early in the session, but it did not affect his position further. KTM showed promising pace at their home track, with Enea Bastianini and Pol Espargaro briefly occupying top-four spots.

The championship battle is heating up. Jorge Martin reclaimed the points lead after winning the sprint race, while Marquez and Bezzecchi remain close behind. This warm-up indicates that the Austrian Grand Prix will be fiercely contested, with at least four riders from different manufacturers capable of fighting for the podium.

The warm-up itself was dramatic. Besides the two crashes involving KTM riders, others like Fermin Aldeguer caught the eye by moving into the top three. However, Bezzecchi's late pace secured him the top spot, followed by Marquez and Acosta, who held third despite his fall.

With this result, Bezzecchi sends a warning that he is ready to disrupt the dominance of the top riders. Meanwhile, Acosta, despite crashing again, still has the speed to bounce back. The Austrian MotoGP race will be the true test of strategy and mental strength on a circuit that demands high precision.
