The Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia at the Sepang International Circuit delivered an extraordinary showcase of lightweight class racing. Maximo Quiles put on a masterclass performance to secure a dominant victory, controlling the pace from the front after a fiercely contested opening phase that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
When the lights went out, the fight for supremacy kicked off immediately into the first corner. David Almansa briefly took charge of the race, sparking intense position swaps at the sharp end of the field. A leading group of five riders quickly pulled away from the chasing pack, which included seasoned contenders like David Munoz and Joel Kelso, as lap times dropped significantly.
By lap six, Quiles reclaimed the lead and immediately put the hammer down. A relentless battle between Almansa and Carpe played right into the hands of the Spanish rider, allowing him to pull out a comfortable gap of nearly seven tenths of stainless performance by the race's midpoint.

The tension reached its peak in the closing stages as local hero Hakim Danish and Veda Pratama ignited a thrilling fight for the podium places. Danish sent the grandstands into raptures by taking second place on lap thirteen, only to face immediate retaliation down the long straights as slipstreaming played a crucial role in shuffling the order.
On the final lap, Quiles crossed the line unchallenged to take the checkers by over three seconds, while the battle for the remaining steps of the podium went down to the wire. Veda Pratama held firm under immense pressure to secure a brilliant second place, with Alvaro Carpe grabbing third ahead of a heartbroken Danish and Almansa completing the top five.
