Young rally driver Max McRae is preparing for the biggest challenge of his career at this weekend's Grampian Forest Rally. As reported by DirtFish, the event serves as round three of the British Rally Championship (BRC) and acts as an FIA candidate rally for Rally Scotland, which is poised to join the WRC calendar in 2027.

Driving a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 alongside co-driver Cameron Fair, McRae gains a rare opportunity to benchmark his pace against world-class drivers. The presence of international competitors such as M-Sport Rally1 driver Jon Armstrong, WRC2 pilot Romet Jürgenson, Lancia duo Yohan Rossel and Nikolay Gryazin, alongside WRC leader Elfyn Evans provides the 22-year-old with a high-level competitive stage amid budget constraints that prevented full-time WRC or ERC campaigns this season.

Speaking to DirtFish, McRae revealed that competing on home soil provides a crucial moment to demonstrate his potential. While acknowledging the experience gap against top-tier drivers fresh from Rally Finland, he remains confident in matching their pace while maintaining his focus on securing valuable BRC points.
