Marco Bezzecchi has offered a candid response regarding recent comments from Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi concerning his ongoing MotoGP world championship ambitions ahead of a crucial race weekend.

The Aprilia rider heads into the Malaysian Grand Prix facing a 50-point deficit in the standings behind championship leader Marc Marquez, leaving very little room for error as the season enters its final demanding stretch.

Despite Bezzecchi's recent title challenge stumbling slightly, Tardozzi warned rivals at Phillip Island that the Italian contender should completely remain in the championship conversation, asserting that the points gap is far from insurmountable given his raw race-winning potential.

However, while acknowledging the flattering remarks from the rival camp, Bezzecchi firmly distanced himself from the notion that overcoming a 50-point margin is a straightforward task under current competitive conditions in the premier class.

Speaking to media during Thursday's pre-event press conference at Sepang, the Italian rider expressed gratitude for the recognition from opposing team management while maintaining a grounded perspective on the championship math.

"Well, I appreciate it obviously," Bezzecchi stated when asked about the remarks. "Not everything he said is true; 50 points is 50 points. It’s not like zero. It’s true that in races anything can happen. And I really appreciate what he said and what they think about me. But it will never be easy. Anyway, I’m not complaining. I just want to do my best.">

With historical challenges at Sepang and cautious expectations regarding the machine's performance across a full race distance, the focus shifts toward extracting maximum performance from every single session on track.
