The lighter side of the Formula 1 paddock captured global attention recently as top-tier drivers traded high-speed machinery for a giant-sized card game. Lando Norris, his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, and Alpine driver Pierre Gasly went head-to-head in a massive match of UNO that quickly drew hundreds of thousands of views online.
Published officially by Formula 1 on YouTube, the entertaining clip showcased the competitors grappling with oversized playing cards roughly the dimensions of street signboards. The physical challenge began immediately during the shuffling phase, with Oscar noting the unexpected weight of the deck while Lando joked about wanting to avoid any injuries while attempting to split the oversized piles.
While the core rules remained faithful to the classic card game, the sheer scale of the props turned standard moves into a comical spectacle. Trash talk erupted almost instantly as the drivers shamelessly peeked at each other's gigantic hands while navigating standard color-matching rules and penalty cards.
Pierre managed to maneuver his way toward a winning position after hitting Lando with a plus-four card, prompting a brief tactical alliance between the papaya-colored McLaren drivers against their rival. Despite their efforts, Lando found himself overwhelmed by a massive stack of cards, struggling so much that he humorously hit himself in the face with one of them during the frantic exchanges.
Ultimately, Lando surrendered the match with the largest hand remaining, admitting candidly after the game concluded that it marked the first time he had ever lost a game of UNO in his entire life. The lighthearted session provided a welcome relief for the trio before shifting their focus back to the intense championship battles on track.
