Jorge Martin remains optimistic about racing in the upcoming Malaysian Grand Prix despite medical examinations confirming a non-complete radius fracture in his right arm following a heavy crash at Phillip Island. The dramatic accident occurred during the Australian GP sprint race at Turn 8 while engaged in a fierce battle for victory against title rival Marc Marquez, putting the Spanish rider's physical readiness in doubt.
Medical reports confirmed a volar and dorsal radial fracture with the bone remaining undisplaced, meaning Jorge Martin will not require surgery. However, an unexpected complication arose as an old ulnar injury developed post-traumatic inflammation due to the impact, potentially complicating the recovery process for the Aprilia rider ahead of the crucial Asian leg of the championship.
To accelerate his rehabilitation, Jorge Martin flew directly to Malaysia on Sunday night instead of returning to Spain, where his trusted physiotherapist Aitor Tomas was scheduled to arrive and implement a tailored recovery plan designed to get him into optimal shape before the weekend activities commence.

MotoGP medical director Dr. Angel Charte will closely supervise the rider's physical condition and make the ultimate decision on whether Jorge Martin is fit enough to take part in Friday morning's opening practice session at Sepang following comprehensive medical evaluations.
"I am receiving the treatment I need to recover from the injury and arrive at Sepang in the best possible shape," Jorge Martin stated ahead of the grand prix weekend, emphasizing that it is impossible to make early predictions and that the team must assess his recovery progress on a daily basis.
