Jorge Martin Explains Tyre Pressure Issue at 2026 Mandalika MotoGP

Jorge Martin had to surrender the championship lead to Marc Marquez after finishing fourth in the Mandalika Sprint Race, securing six crucial points for his title campaign.

The Spanish rider's performance was heavily hampered by a tyre pressure miscalculation during the short race at the Indonesian venue. Difficult afternoon track conditions, characterized by dropping temperatures and high humidity, made it extremely hard to keep the front tyre within the optimal operating window.

Despite a late mistake that saw him run wide while trying to recover positions, the reigning world champion refused to point fingers at his mechanics, emphasizing unity and collective responsibility within the garage.

Prior to the technical setback, Jorge Martin produced a stellar start from fifth on the grid, rocketing straight into the lead at the opening corner after taking advantage of mistakes from his rivals ahead.
