Hamilton Rates His 2026 F1 Season: 'Slightly Above Average' TO NEWS OVERVIEW
Lewis Hamilton took a convincing victory in Barcelona

Lewis Hamilton has given an honest assessment of his 2026 Formula 1 season so far, calling his performance "slightly above average" after a competitive first half with Ferrari.

The seven-time world champion has looked reborn this year, finally extracting the full potential from the SF-26 with bold overtakes and consistent results. This marks a stark contrast to his difficult 2025 debut season, where he failed to secure a single podium—a first in his 20-year career.

His emphatic maiden victory for Ferrari at the Spanish Grand Prix was a turning point, arriving at his 31st attempt with the team. Since then, Hamilton has added four more podiums and has never finished outside the top six, keeping him ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc and Mercedes' George Russell in the standings.

Despite trailing Kimi Antonelli by 50 points, Hamilton remains measured about his title chances. "I'm thinking about just one race at a time," he said. "I'm just trying to figure out how I can maximise each weekend."

Interestingly, Hamilton revealed he hasn't had to drastically alter his driving style to adapt to the all-new 2026 regulations. "I don't feel like I've had to make more adjustments than any other era of car," he explained, showing his remarkable adaptability after struggling with ground-effect machinery.

With half the season remaining and Ferrari showing genuine title-contending pace, Hamilton's calm approach suggests he's letting his results speak louder than expectations.
