Hamilton Credits Ferrari 'Collaboration' for 2026 F1 Success TO NEWS OVERVIEW
Hamilton heads into the Dutch GP weekend, second in the standings

Lewis Hamilton is enjoying a stellar 2026 season with Ferrari, emerging as a serious title contender after a disappointing debut campaign. As the second half of the season kicks off with the Dutch Grand Prix, the British driver sits second in the standings, just 50 points behind championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Hamilton has already secured five podiums, including a maiden victory with the Scuderia at Barcelona. Reflecting on his sophomore year, he credits the team's "collaboration" as the key to his success. "It's a combination of a lot of things. We made many changes to the car, not just one thing. It's all pieces of the puzzle. The car is quite different in this new generation. We've made a lot of changes, and we're in a better place. We've got a great collaboration now. It took a year to get in sync," he said.

Last year, Hamilton struggled to adapt to the SF-25's quirks due to a lack of direct input in development. However, for 2026, his feedback has been crucial in shaping the SF-26's concept, giving him confidence that Ferrari has the right formula. "The things I asked for got done over time. The results show it works. We've got the right formula now," he added.

Hamilton even calls Ferrari "innovators," with rivals like Red Bull and McLaren taking interest in their 'Macarena' rear wing and other design ideas. "Last year I said Ferrari should be innovators. This year, we are. People are following our designs. We're in a sweet spot," he explained.

Zandvoort holds painful memories for Hamilton, as he crashed out last year in a double DNF for Ferrari. This weekend, he aims to close the gap to Antonelli and continue his strong form.
