MotoGP heads to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the sixth round of the 2026 season this weekend. The Catalan Grand Prix is expected to become one of the key events in the early championship fight following dramatic momentum shifts after Le Mans.
Aprilia Racing arrives in Barcelona leading the championship through Marco Bezzecchi, who holds a narrow one-point advantage after team-mate Jorge Martin secured victory in France last weekend. Aprilia’s RS-GP package has emerged as one of the most complete bikes on the grid in terms of race pace, traction, and tyre management.
Meanwhile, Ducati Lenovo Team faces a difficult weekend without Marc Marquez, who remains sidelined following shoulder and foot surgery after his heavy Le Mans sprint crash. Ducati has confirmed it will not replace Marquez for the Barcelona round.

Ducati will instead rely heavily on Alex Marquez, who delivered a strong performance at Catalunya last season. Barcelona’s layout, which places heavy demands on front tyre stability and long-corner balance, is expected to create another intense technical battle between Aprilia, Ducati, KTM, and Yamaha.
From a technical perspective, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya remains one of the toughest tracks on the MotoGP calendar for front tyre management due to its long-radius corners and high lateral loads. Low grip conditions are also expected to become a major factor throughout both the sprint race and Sunday’s grand prix.
All sessions from the 2026 Catalan MotoGP weekend will be broadcast live through MotoGP Video Pass and multiple international television platforms.
