Nick Cassidy remains at the top of the Formula E drivers’ championship despite failing to score points at the Miami E-Prix, as a dramatic race reshaped the early title battle.

Cassidy’s former team-mate Mitch Evans claimed victory for Jaguar, lifting the New Zealander to sixth in the standings and reintroducing him into the championship conversation after a mixed start to the season.

Podium finishes for Nico Muller and Pascal Wehrlein proved decisive for Porsche, which has now opened up a 27-point advantage over Citroen in the teams’ championship.

Wehrlein’s third-place finish in Miami moved the German up to second in the drivers’ standings, leaving him just two points behind Cassidy. After three rounds of the 2026 season, the top six drivers are separated by only seven points, underlining how finely balanced the championship has become.

Consistency has emerged as a defining factor in the opening phase of the season. While Cassidy has not finished on the podium in Miami, his earlier results have allowed him to retain the championship lead as several of his closest rivals continue to trade strong and weak weekends.

Behind the leading pair, Jake Dennis, Oliver Rowland, and Muller remain firmly in contention, ensuring that the title picture remains wide open heading into the next round.

In the teams’ standings, Porsche’s early advantage reflects the strength of its driver pairing and its ability to score consistently with both cars. Citroen, despite Cassidy’s lead in the drivers’ standings, now faces increasing pressure to respond as the season develops.
