The extreme challenge of Marina Bay Street Circuit for F1 teams and drivers is amplified this weekend as the Singapore Grand Prix hosts a demanding sprint format. Varying track temperatures and session timings were far from the only major talking points inside the paddock on day one, covering crucial technical updates and driver adjustments.
Lando Norris arrives in Singapore carrying renewed hope that a persistent straightline speed issue hampering his McLaren car has finally been resolved. The problem previously cost him between one and two tenths of a second per lap compared to team-mate Oscar Piastri across previous rounds.
"Yeah, hopeful. Need to get on track first and see how much better it is," Lando Norris stated when asked if things would return to normal. Dilansir dari The-Race, he noted: "It's been a frustrating two weekends trying to figure out what the issue's been and why there's just been a constant lack of straightline speed and performance, especially in this kind of battle we've been in."

Meanwhile, Mercedes driver George Russell elected to revert to an older car specification for this weekend. The decision helps the team evaluate whether their major recent upgrade package is genuinely a step forward following a puzzling defeat against Red Bull.
With George Russell also facing a grid penalty due to new power unit components after a recent retirement, switching back to the previous spec became a logical choice. The sprint weekend format locks both drivers into their configurations early, providing Mercedes with vital answers for future car development.
