Ducati has officially wrapped up its inaugural campaign in the Elite MX1 Spanish Motocross Championship, securing a double runner-up finish in both the rider and constructor standings. The iconic Borgo Panigale manufacturer achieved this milestone with their brand-new off-road machine, the Desmo450 MX, expertly piloted by Victor Alonso Rodilla who claimed two victories and eight podium finishes across the seven national rounds of 2026.
This remarkable outcome serves as a major boost for the sport project managed by Ducati Spain and Portugal. Alonso Rodilla showcased incredible consistency by finishing inside the top six across all 14 contested motos, allowing the Italian marque to comfortably secure second place in the final manufacturer championship table.
The journey to the top was far from straightforward, as the Spanish rider initially struggled following an injury layoff that required time to regain full competitive rhythm. However, tireless development work and steady progress throughout the calendar eventually paid off. The breakthrough maiden podium at Montearagon proved vital in restoring the squad's confidence.

Momentum reached its peak when Alonso Rodilla clinched a sensational double win in Moron, cementing his status as a leading contender in the class. He continued his fierce battle for supremacy at Talavera, where the team ultimately prioritized locking down the championship runner-up honors.
According to reports from Motosan.es, Alonso Rodilla reflected positively on the campaign. Ha sido una temporada muy positiva, de mucho aprendizaje, stated the rider, highlighting his rapid adaptation to the Desmo450 MX, continuous parts development, and electronic fine-tuning tailored to his riding style.
Beyond the Spanish borders, the Desmo450 MX package made waves internationally, accumulating a total of 33 heats, six race wins, 18 podiums, and five holeshots. A major highlight of their international outing was a stunning third-place finish in race two of the EMX Open at Lommel, thoroughly testing the new bike's capabilities on the demanding sand circuit.
