MotoGP, Sportrik Media - David Almansa delivered the fastest lap in Moto3 Practice at the 2026 Brazilian Grand Prix in Goiania, edging a tightly contested session that saw minimal margins across the top positions.

The Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP rider posted a 1’30.260 benchmark, narrowly ahead of Cormac Buchanan from BOE Motorsports by just 0.003 seconds. Indonesia’s Veda Ega Pratama, representing Honda Team Asia, secured third place, maintaining competitive pace throughout the session.

The session unfolded under relatively stable track conditions, allowing riders to push for optimal lap times. The competitive spread was extremely tight, highlighting the importance of slipstream strategy and precise sector execution, particularly in the final sector of the Goiania circuit.

Behind the leading trio, Joel Kelso of GRYD MLav Racing and Rico Salmela from Red Bull KTM Tech3 completed the top five. KTM machinery once again demonstrated strong one-lap performance, although Honda remained competitive through multiple entries in the top positions.

Further down the order, riders such as Joel Esteban and Brian Uriarte reinforced the depth of competition, with lap times within a narrow window that kept qualification scenarios highly open heading into Saturday.

The outcome of this Practice session determines direct progression into Q2, placing additional emphasis on consistent lap execution rather than single-lap peaks. Riders outside the top 14 will need to navigate Q1, increasing the strategic complexity of qualifying.

Notably, the margins separating Q2 qualifiers from those heading into Q1 remained minimal, underlining the competitive parity within the Moto3 field. This dynamic is expected to carry into qualifying, where track evolution and drafting tactics will play decisive roles.

Moto3 action now moves into qualifying, where grid positions will be determined ahead of Sunday’s race. With performance gaps so narrow, execution under pressure will be critical in defining the competitive order for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
