The Moto2 qualifying session at the Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang witnessed an absolute masterclass performance delivered by Daniel Holgado. The talented rider successfully secured the premier grid slot after clocking an impressive lap time of 2 minutes 02.875 seconds aboard his Kalex machine, pulling clear by over half a second ahead of the rest of the intermediate class field.

This stellar achievement marks his first return to the front of the grid since his last pole position appearance in Brazil, where he successfully converted it into a race victory. During the intense pole position shootout in Malaysia, he wasted no time lowering his own benchmark on his final run, leaving chasing riders scrambling behind.

Meanwhile, rookie sensation Angel Piqueras put in a phenomenal effort to grab second place for QJMotor, albeit finishing 0.541 seconds slower than the dominant polesitter. Elsewhere, Izan Guevara showcased his strong pace after topping the earlier FP2 session, briefly leading Q2 on his way to claiming third as the highest-placed Boscoscuro rider for Blu Cru Pramac Yamaha.
