The competitive landscape of the intermediate world championship class is set for a major shake-up as Pramac Racing management prepares to adopt German-engineered Kalex chassis starting from the 2027 Moto2 season, replacing their current hardware.
Kalex remains the benchmark constructor in the intermediate category, supplying 20 machines across the grid and locking horns in fierce sporting battles with Italian rivals Boscoscuro. This intense rivalry is vividly reflected in the championship fight, featuring standout contenders like Manuel Gonzalez and title chaser Izan Guevara trading blows at every Grand Prix weekend.
While rider battles remain unpredictable, Kalex's superiority in the constructors' standings is overwhelming. Holding a massive points cushion over Boscoscuro with only a few rounds remaining in the 2026 campaign, the German manufacturer continues to prove its engineering prowess on the world stage.

Under the leadership of Gino Borsoi, the Pramac operation originally restructured its intermediate class presence in 2025 to establish a coherent pathway toward the premier MotoGP class. After two seasons utilizing Italian hardware, the squad has chosen to align with the class benchmark to maximize future podium potentials with their confirmed lineup.
Conversely, this impending switch deals a heavy blow to Luca Boscoscuro's technical footprint in the paddock. With major teams realigning their machinery choices for 2027, the grid structure is bound for a dramatic reduction, cementing Kalex's status as the undisputed technical foundation of the Moto2 world championship.
