The European motorcycle racing paddock has been buzzing with internal restructuring news involving the Apreco racing squad and renowned Dutch tuning outfit Ten Kate. Following years of deep association with Yamaha, Ten Kate officially decided to part ways with the Japanese manufacturer to enter the Supersport World Championship with a Chinese motorcycle brand. This major industry shift instantly ignited wild paddock rumors, with many outsiders incorrectly linking the manufacturer switch directly to the future plans of the German championship squad.

Team owner Corine Brandhorst firmly stepped forward to shut down the swirling speculation. Addressing the gossip, she emphasized that her team's restructuring has absolutely nothing to do with Ten Kate's international championship moves. As inquiries poured in from rival teams questioning whether Apreco would also switch manufacturers or even shut down completely, management opted for absolute transparency by releasing a joint statement alongside Yamaha to clear the air.

The rumor mill had previously intensified regarding the future contract of rider Twan Smits and his progression towards the world stage. Brandhorst explicitly clarified that the decision to alter the collaboration was far from a sudden surprise, revealing that she had already notified Ten Kate during the fifth IDM round at Assen about the upcoming structural changes. While acknowledging their strong work with the R1 platform previously, mounting technical hurdles on other machinery prompted a necessary operational pivot.

Demonstrating total independence, the squad took matters into their own hands by autonomously building their own R9 machinery for Dirk Geiger and Lennox Lehmann without any technical input from Ten Kate aside from initial engine supplies. When reliability issues surfaced mid-season, the team even transitioned directly to racing department power units provided straight from the factory. Armed with a clear vision and solidified manufacturer backing, Apreco is fully prepared to silence doubters and charge toward success in the upcoming racing season.
