The Formula 1 race weekend at Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace Interlagos has been dominated by intense questions directed at Scuderia Ferrari regarding the controversial events from the preceding Mexico City GP. While Lewis Hamilton and Team Principal Fred Vasseur previously shouldered the media barrage, Charles Leclerc has now added his perspective to the ongoing paddock debate.
The Monegasque driver was understandably absent from the media spotlight during the early part of the week following the birth of his first child, Bianca. Leclerc admitted that his focus remained entirely with his newborn until he arrived at the track on Thursday night to hold crucial clear-the-air talks with management and his teammate.
Speaking after Saturday's qualifying session, Leclerc emphasized that he now considers the matter fully resolved. "From my perspective I was very straightforward of course and I think it was good to speak," Leclerc told reporters in the media pen.

He noted that external commentary had blown the situation out of proportion. "I think it took proportions that are way too big, but it has been around also for way too long. At the same time it was a very special week for me so I couldn't really have those discussions before and it was important to have those discussions, but now I consider that a closed chapter and I think it will be important to look ahead."
Despite trying to move the conversation forward, Leclerc candidly acknowledged that natural competitive friction persists between himself and Hamilton as they push for supremacy on track. Open dialogue remains the primary tool for smoothing over inevitable disagreements.
"Of course there is tension, of course we want to finish ahead of each other and sometimes we are not going to do things right, and it's OK sometimes to disagree on the way you see things, but at the same time discussing about those helps a whole lot," he explained.
Hamilton echoed similar sentiments to the press, confirming that both drivers sat down to squash any lingering animosity. As the 2026 season heads toward its final stretch, Ferrari's ability to manage this fierce intra-team rivalry will be a defining factor in their championship campaign.
