The buzz of the paddock, the sea of fans, and the unmistakable atmosphere of race week filled the first day of the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragon. Before MotoGP riders truly let loose on the asphalt of MotorLand, a series of events including Media Day and the Track Walk set the stage at the Spanish circuit.
Thousands of spectators at the Pit Lane Walk were treated to appearances by several stars. Pedro Acosta and Alex Marquez took time to sign autographs and snap photos with eager fans. Meanwhile, the official press conference featured Jorge Martin, Marco Bezzecchi, Marc Marquez, and Raul Fernandez as the main protagonists. Riders also conducted the Track Walk to study every nuance of the layout before hitting speeds of 360 km/h on Friday.
Friday marks the first real on-track action. Free Practice 1 and the Practice session will be the initial battleground for riders to secure a spot in Q2 on Saturday. It's a crucial moment not to be missed, as the evolving track conditions will present their own set of challenges.
Fan Zone and Young Designers
For fans seeking a closer experience, the Fan Zone located behind Grandstand 7 promises to delight visitors. A giant Ferris wheel offers panoramic views of the entire circuit. The entertainment stage will feature personalities like Wilbur and Andres Campo, with riders such as Pedro Acosta, Alex Rins, and Raul Fernandez scheduled to appear on Saturday to engage with the public.
Additionally, the Fan Zone includes a gaming garage, food areas, merchandise stalls, and even a mini-circuit and photocall for kids. Interestingly, Alex Marquez's lucky charm, the 'Alexneta', is also on display in this area. Shaded spots are available for fans to recharge amid the excitement.
On another note, Alex Rins welcomed four winners of the helmet design contest that he will use this weekend. Alexandra, Ander, Julio, and Mara, students from the Colegio Rural Agrupado del Mezquin in Castelseras, had the rare opportunity to see Rins' Yamaha M1 up close in the garage. An unforgettable experience for them.
