An incredible performance was delivered by Alex Dunne during the Formula 2 weekend in Azerbaijan, successfully slashing his championship deficit to just 18 points behind the series leader. This stellar display highlights just how intensely competitive the grid is this season, especially after the Irish driver managed to secure a podium finish across all three races held at the challenging Baku street circuit.
The action-packed weekend began on a high note when the Rodin charger stormed to pole position in the first qualifying session before securing second place on the grid for the next race behind teammate Martinius Stenshorne. He further demonstrated his racecraft by carving his way up from tenth on the grid to claim a brilliant third-place finish in a chaotic Sprint Race.
The pinnacle of his weekend came during the first Feature Race, where he flawlessly converted his pole position into a commanding victory. Although he crossed the chequered flag first on the track in the second Feature Race before a five-second time penalty dropped him down to third, collecting silverware in every single outing showcased his immense raw speed and determination.

Despite the strong haul of points, the young charger admitted he felt physically drained by the end of Sunday, yet remained deeply satisfied with his overall execution. "I mean, no, it's been a really good weekend. We were on the front row for both races, pole, and I won both races on track," he reflected on his performance throughout the demanding weekend.
With the championship gap dramatically reduced from 59 points down to a mere 18 points to series leader Rafa Camara, the battle for the crown is officially wide open. As Nikola Tsolov and the chasing pack loom closely behind, the stage is set for a thrilling title showdown as Dunne vows to leave nothing on the table.
