Looking ahead to the evolving global motorsport landscape, a select MotoGP delegation travelled directly to Adelaide following the conclusion of the race weekend at Phillip Island. The primary objective of this visit was to inspect the current developmental status of the new venue, which is scheduled to host the inaugural Australian Grand Prix from November 12 to 14, 2027.
Accompanying the delegation was MotoGP Deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta, alongside rising stars David Alonso and Senna Agius. Both young riders are set to make their step up to the premier class, giving them a valuable early look at the venue where Agius will compete as the sole local hero in the premier class during the 2027 season.
The itinerary featured a crucial meeting with representatives from the South Australian state government to evaluate the proposed track layout and ramp up promotional efforts ahead of next year's grand prix. This visit coincided with a major regulatory milestone for the infrastructure project, as the federal government officially granted environmental approval for the continuation of works.

Alongside this regulatory clearance, findings from a comprehensive public consultation phase were published to guide the next stages of detailed planning. More than 6,000 survey responses and 1,000 written submissions were collected during the three-week consultation period running from August 31 to September 20.
Public feedback regarding the track design heavily emphasized minimizing environmental disruption within the Adelaide Park Lands, particularly concerning mature trees. Addressing these community priorities, the project team confirmed that out of the 8.895 trees located within the circuit precinct, a remarkable 95 percent will remain untouched by the development while still meeting stringent technical and safety requirements.
